One of Suzhou’s biggest attractions lies in its historic old quarter, with its cobbled alleys, quaint stone bridges and narrow canals. If you get up early in the morning and visit before the tourist crowds, and you’ll see many of the old quarter’s residents out and about, hanging up their laundry, taking their kids to school, or simply enjoying some sun with their neighbors.
